We're Jealous of Ink & Peat

I came across this lovely little store while perusing the blogs out there - Ink & Peat. They are located in the one place I so long to visit - Portland, Oregon. They have put together the perfect combination of two things I love (and I'm sure a lot of us love!) - home decor and floral arranging. Such a brilliant idea! There are photos of the store on the owner's blog - housemartin - which I will post here for your viewing pleasure:

Everything really shows off the roots of this designer's passion for beauty. She designed textiles in the fashion industry for 15 years! From what I can tell, the store has only been open since the Spring of 2008. Such an impressive bounty of gorgeousness for only having been open a little over a year! Their site is unfortunately not set up for online shopping, but I'm hoping hoping that I either will get to take a journey to Portland one of these days or she will set all the wonderful items up for sale on her site. :)
Lovin' these flowers as well -
Yes, there is an apple in there.
Oh! It all just makes me that much more excited to open up a store of my own someday!

Our Week - 4th of July

It has been a busy summer so far for Fey Handmade. We took some much needed time to rest over the 4th of July.

Our intern, Caroline, was just in North Carolina with her family for our nation's birthday. Check out these amazing photos she took of the ocean! (I would have never guessed that is what these are... surreal, right?)

ah, summer...
I love Caroline's photos!

And I got to take a very exciting trip to Boston for the weekend. Most of the trip was for baseball related reasons. I'm a pretty big Red Sox fan, so seeing Fenway Park was probably the biggest moment of my baseball life... until... I got to walk on the field. That's right. For reasons I must keep somewhat under wraps, I got to be ON the field! (and I accidentally walked on the grass even though we weren't allowed) This was no tour related excursion. No sir. Let's just say, I know people. Maybe I'll tell you the story soon though! wink wink

I just love the spirit in this town!

It is such a beautiful city and I cannot wait to get back! I even considered moving there! That's only happened once before - Savannah. Ah, I love discovering new places!

We're Jealous of Happy Tape

So, I forget how I came across this fantastic shop, but I am so so glad I did! I cannot wait to get some of this tape! How could anyone come up with such a clever idea?! Hence the jealousy : ) - Happy Tape

Art we Heart

This Swedish illustrator, based in Stockholm, makes such gorgeous work, we couldn't pass up the chance to share. Stina Persson has done work for many, many famous and worldwide clients. You might have seen her work on such cool items as Face Boutique products, at the Berlin Film Festival in May, and many fab magazines, including Print (which happens to be my fav).

You can buy some of her high quality Giclee prints at Cosh or, if you're in the market to splurge on some original art, Gallery Hanahou can set you up.

cravings .a new way.

I'm sorry to say that our old blog is going away.. but it will be replaced by this much more efficient and exciting new blog on blogspot! Hooray!! You can look forward to new posts and features about all the things that make your life interesting - from vintage shopping to art to interior design, photography and food. This evening, in preparation for tomorrow (a little early) I'm loving these great breakfast shots!
