Feather Your Nest - Vintage Style

With more snow coming to my area, I'll probably be stuck inside for at least 24 hours. I'm planning on using that extra time to organize my space a little! Here are some lovely vintage (or vintage inspired) pieces I have my eye on to spruce up my apartment. (above from ethanollie + zinnia cottage)

Off I go to settle in for some snow watching with my hot tea and a good book! Stay warm out there!

Wish List - What I Want For Christmas

I'm still waiting for that relaxation I keep promising myself, so I figure I'll try to get into the holiday spirit by putting together a little wish list for Santa! If any (or all) of these amazing gifts were under my tree this Saturday, I'd be thrilled for sure!

Erin Ink - Recipe Calendar

This calendar from Erin Ink is adorable! I needed to share :)

I have been so ridiculously busy this season (thank you to everyone who is shopping handmade! I love you and want to give you all so many hugs!!) and will be back to regular posting once this madness has slowed down a bit. I'm actually procrastinating over all the other to dos on my list right now, or this post wouldn't even be happening ; ) Plus, maybe all you lovely readers need to get yourselves a little gift, and this sweet calendar is the perfect thing at only $10!

Pretty illustrations + family recipes on every page make this a simple comfort throughout the whole year. And, as Erin puts it, I'm sure you will "have fun cooking your way through every month of this calendar." !!

Wishlist - Purse Necklace from kikosattic

I adore this and all the necklaces from Akiko of kikosattic. Based in Japan, this artist used to make miniature doll animals and started crafting with leather 5 years ago. Her creations are so unique and very affordable too! (prices for one of her pieces start at $27) This caramel purse necklace is at the top of my wishlist, for sure!

More is New! at Fey Handmade

I am absolutely in LOVE with these new pieces that we just got in from Woodland Belle! These little magical rings and necklaces are at the top of my wish list and I am so very excited that Fey Handmade gets to share them with you! Mai McKemy creates each little wonderland by hand and they are so detailed that it is almost unbelievable! It's like having a little garden to yourself! I can't wait to see all the fantastic designs that come from this designer as her business continues to grow! You can buy each of these designs over in the shop - Woodland Belle on Fey Handmade

Zodiac Art

In further spirit of my birthday, I came across this fun little typographical piece of art (via sfgirlbybay). The piece comes framed or unframed and is printed in every zodiac sign! What a neat gift this would be! (I was even tempted to buy one for myself but I already have my eye on way too much art - hence my blank walls - bad decision making skills!) You can find yours (in whichever zodiac sign you please) over at Coulson Macleod

snowpocalypse

Oh dear. If you have been watching the news, then you are aware of the enormous blizzard that has basically engulfed the upper East coast. Unfortunately, for me, and I'm going to assume Christine, since she is located in New Jersey, we are buried under what appears to be 4,345 feet of snow. It is truly insane! The roads are horrid and it's scary when to drive when you have an old clunker like I do! I've been shoveling the snow until my arms feel like piles of Jell-O, my hair becomes a giant rat's nest, and all I can think about is the beach and the warmth of the sun. The sun? What is that?! I haven't seen the sun in quite some time! And! And! And! Tonight, my evening classes were canceled because...guess what? 10 more inches of snow! I hope this ends soon!

Above, I will leave you, dear readers, with a few stunning pieces from Project Runway's Janeane Marie, in hopes that her intricately beautiful creations will remind you of a warmer season!

katie henry of madebyhank

Today, I wanted to share these absolutely gorgeous bags from Katie Henry of MadebyHank. I've featured her on my blog in many posts because I love her work; her attention to detail and craftsmanship is impeccable.

I wish I had her sewing skills. She's one of my favorite artists on Etsy; her items are incredibly popular, especially her shoulder bags. I love, no, LOVEEEEE these two beauties. Vintage, floral fabric! Bright & nubby wool! AHH!

Unfortunately, they have already been sold to two, incredibly lucky ladies. Sad. For now, I will just stare at them, hoping one of these bags appear in my living room at this very moment. Ah, a girl can dream. Have a lovely day! :)
