Office Space

I am longing for a workspace that represents what happens here! Right now, that area of the house has a teeny writing desk that gets covered in papers and books and who-knows-what, almost by the end of the day. These desks are an inspiration and I truly wish I could get it together and make something this pretty!

Martha Stewart Living

Caitlin Holcomb's workspace via Heart Handmade

Apartment Therapy

Design Sponge (as tiny as this one is, the art on the wall is by far my favorite) (found via Everything LEB)

Inspiration board of Martha Stewart's creative director - Ayesha Patel (this is SO inspiring!! I wish I were that creative!)

One of these days I'm waiting for a light bulb to go off - "this is the solution!" but until then I'll just have to live with my teeny lil' desk. There is a helpful article that I came across from Decor8 and I plan on accessing my situation with Holly's help. Maybe I can at least come up with a plan and grow from there!

Art we Heart - David Shringley

This artist is just out for a good laugh. You can search through his fun website here. There's not really much I can put together about him as he seems to be a pretty unconventional person. I think he likes it that way. I like it that way too. Enjoy!

Weird but true (and amazing?)

Guess what that is.....

Don't scroll down just yet.....

It's adorable, no?

I found it while I was analyzing myself (worth) on craftcult.

It was in the little rotating strip above everything.

Has some simple ads for Etsy listings and such..

Did you figure this out yet?

I bet you want to know.

Because I did.

That's why I clicked it.

Ok.

You're ready ; )

....

*gasp!*

Yes! It is a headband!! Oh my goodness, gracious! Now, the question is, do we like it? Would you wear it? I can't decide for myself. It's available for $32 from Pretty Good Things. If you click on the last picture above, you'll be taken to the listing for this cutey.

Let me know what you think! I'm curious...

Busy as usual

It has been ridiculously busy over here as per usual. We'll be back soon though, so stay tuned!

Fall is upon us

I've been super busy over here adding lots and lots of new prettiness to the shop but I still had time yesterday to drive around on a gray fall day and enjoy a pumpkin spice latte from starbucks :) If you've ever tried one, you know that it kind of, almost perfectly embodies the taste of fall. At least to me! Here are a few pumpkin spice inspired goodies -

A thought

It's just one of those days.... Motivational in-your-face-ness from NayArts that I got when I searched on Etsy for what I'm doing today.... Procrastinating!
Hope you're having a more productive day than me out there!

We're Jealous of - Candystore Collective

San Francisco based Candystore Collective is flat out awesome. They believe in similar things as us and they have an edge that we adore. Their storefront in California is just so fabulous, that we decided to post some pictures!

Their take on consumerism is inspiring and so very down to earth - "We strongly believe that the things we wear, fill our homes with and give as gifts should mean something. The world already has more stuff than it knows what to do with it, so we set out to find the kind of things that made us happy each and every time we saw them, wore them, or thought about them." I love their philosophy and I hope Fey Handmade can become as amazing as them someday. You guys rule!

And by the way, yes, their storefront and walls are growing actual plants. This led me to another discovery - Woolly Pocket Garden Company.
They make pockets that grow plants.... Amazing!
Gosh I want a store! : )

Get Organized

Since I'm stuck in the office on this gloomy, grey day, I figured I would dream of bringing some life to my drab stationery and office supplies!

And the greatest of all - STICKY NOTES! - $3.50

Maybe these items will make their way into someone's desk and keep the working world smiling : )

Beach Jewels

Since I am on my way to the beach for the last time this summer.... meaning before labor day (I basically live on the beach all year round) I was inspired to put together some beach related finds. Rings to be exact. It's a lovely little way to carry a piece of the shore with you all through the seasons, where ever you may be.

Leftovers

Found via Photojojo, this fantastic food blog has some inspiring Polaroids. Leftovers. The writer takes a photo of everything they eat, every day! This is a great type of habit to get into. If you want to become a better photographer - or better at anything for that matter - it is best to at least attempt to do it every day.

I, myself, have been attempting to do a whole mess of things every day. Here is a list of my "goals" (haha):
Update this blog every day (almost there... maybe not)
Update the shop site every day (definitely on the way to doing that!)
Draw every day (not even a chance)
Meditate on a somewhat regular basis (at least I try)

Every year I also try to stick to Project365, (also originally found via Photojojo a few years ago). Same concept as the food photos - you take at least one photo (of anything!), every single day of the year. Hence, 365! It's not as easy as it sounds though. I always get up to about March and then something shifts and I get out of my mode. Some days there are hundreds of photos and other days... you know.. those days where you're just hanging around in your pjs watching Martha... what's there to take a photo of? And then it starts to crumble. I must say that I have become somewhat of a better photographer because of the habit though!

So get out there and take some photos! Do what you love :)
